Massachusetts testing lab gets license yanked 👀
Assured Testing Laboratories in Tyngsboro has had their license revoked by the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission. According to the CCC, samples at Assured were “90% less likely to fail from the presence of yeast and mold compared to the industry average…” among other infractions. More from MassLive.
Rhode Island defends residency requirement before 1st Circuit 🧑⚖️
Rhode Island regulators urged the First Circuit Court of Appeals to affirm a lower federal court's dismissal of a Constitutional challenge to its adult-use regulations. Attorney Jeffrey Jensen, who has repeatedly sued cannabis regulators in multiple states, is challenging the rules in Rhode Island that require applicants to be residents of the state.
Nebraska governor signs emergency medical market rules ⌚
Governor Jim Pillen approved emergency regulations on July 1 that will allow Nebraska's medical market to get off the ground. The new rules will allow the state to begin accepting applications for cultivation and retail and issue licenses that are good for two years. The state would have until October 1 to file permanent rules.
Growers can soon sell in Alberta 🧑🌾
Cannabis growers in Alberta will now be able to apply for a retail permit for onsite sales, following a new rule approved by the Provincial Government. There are currently 752 licensed retailers in the province.
Hawaii expands medical cannabis access ✍️
Hawaii Gov. Josh Green signed HB302 into law on Thursday. The bill expands access to medical marijuana for Hawaii residents. The major addition allows medical providers to issue certifications for cannabis use in patients for any condition they deem eligible. Additionally, the guidelines for cannabis cultivator regulations were made clearer regarding cannabis seed procurement, distribution, and the granting of licenses.
